Jaipur, Rajasthan, India

Amid global developments in West Asia, Rajasthan Minister Avinash Gehlot welcomed the recent agreement between the United States and Iran for a temporary ceasefire, calling it a positive step towards peace and stability.

Speaking in Jaipur, Avinash Gehlot said that India has always upheld the values of peace and non conflict, emphasizing that the country’s tradition is rooted in avoiding war and promoting harmony. He noted that tensions involving the United States, Israel, and Iran had been ongoing for nearly 40 to 45 days, creating concern across the world.

He stated that the agreement reached between the United States and Iran to pause hostilities is a very positive development, not only for India but for the entire global community. He welcomed the move, highlighting its importance in reducing tensions in a sensitive geopolitical region.

Referring to the ceasefire, Gehlot said that such agreements help prevent further escalation and provide an opportunity for dialogue and diplomacy. The two week ceasefire arrangement, which includes safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz, has brought temporary relief after weeks of uncertainty.

He emphasized that India’s long standing position has always been in favour of peace, dialogue, and stability rather than conflict.

The recent tensions in West Asia had raised concerns globally due to their potential impact on energy supply routes, trade, and regional stability. The Strait of Hormuz, a critical oil transit route, had become a focal point during the conflict, making the ceasefire particularly significant.

Gehlot’s remarks reflect a broader sentiment of relief and cautious optimism, as countries around the world monitor whether this temporary ceasefire can lead to a more permanent resolution.

He welcomed the development as a step in the right direction, expressing hope that such initiatives will lead to lasting peace and stability in the region.

The situation continues to be closely watched, with the coming days expected to determine whether the temporary truce can evolve into a long term diplomatic solution.
