Jaipur, Rajasthan:

Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma chaired a key review meeting at the Chief Minister’s Office in Jaipur with officials from the Forest and Environment Department, focusing on the progress of the ‘Hariyalo Rajasthan’ initiative and planning for upcoming plantation drives. The meeting also included detailed discussions on Monsoon 2026 plantation targets and the expansion of projects such as Chandan Van, Namo Van, and Namo Nursery.

The Chief Minister emphasized the importance of increasing green cover across the state through structured and large-scale plantation efforts. The ‘Hariyalo Rajasthan’ initiative is aimed at transforming the state’s ecological landscape by promoting afforestation and environmental sustainability on a mission mode.

During the meeting, officials presented plans and targets for the upcoming monsoon season, which is considered crucial for plantation activities. Special focus was placed on setting ambitious yet achievable plantation goals for Monsoon 2026, ensuring maximum survival rate of saplings and long-term ecological benefits.

Bhajan Lal Sharma also reviewed the development and expansion of ‘Chandan Van’ and ‘Namo Van’ projects, which are designed to promote biodiversity and create dedicated green zones. These initiatives are expected to enhance environmental balance while also serving as important ecological assets for future generations.

The ‘Namo Nursery’ project was another key area of discussion, with emphasis on ensuring the availability of high-quality saplings to support large-scale plantation drives. Strengthening nursery infrastructure is seen as essential for sustaining the momentum of afforestation campaigns across the state.

The Chief Minister directed officials to ensure proper coordination between departments, timely implementation of plans, and regular monitoring of plantation activities. He also stressed the need to involve local communities, institutions, and organizations to maximize participation and awareness.

The meeting highlighted the government’s commitment to environmental conservation, with a clear focus on combining policy planning with effective execution on the ground. Efforts are being made to integrate sustainability into development strategies while addressing challenges such as climate change and ecological degradation.

Officials were also instructed to adopt innovative methods and modern techniques to improve plantation success rates and ensure that the initiatives deliver long-term results. Monitoring mechanisms and accountability measures are expected to play a crucial role in achieving the set targets.

The review meeting reflects a broader vision of building a greener Rajasthan, where environmental protection and development go hand in hand. With preparations for Monsoon 2026 underway, the state is gearing up for an extensive plantation campaign aimed at strengthening its green cover.

As these initiatives progress, they are expected to contribute significantly to ecological resilience, biodiversity conservation, and overall environmental well-being in Rajasthan.
