Jaipur, Rajasthan: Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma chaired an important meeting at the Chief Minister’s Office in Jaipur with officials from the Forest and Environment Department to review the progress and implementation of the ‘Hariyalo Rajasthan’ initiative and the ‘Namo Nursery’ project.
The meeting focused on strengthening environmental conservation efforts across the state, with a particular emphasis on increasing green cover and promoting sustainable development. Officials presented updates on ongoing plantation drives, nursery development, and strategies to enhance public participation in environmental initiatives.
The ‘Hariyalo Rajasthan’ initiative is aimed at boosting afforestation and transforming the state into a greener landscape through large-scale plantation campaigns. The programme seeks to address ecological challenges while improving biodiversity and environmental balance in both urban and rural areas.
During the discussion, the Chief Minister reviewed the functioning and expansion plans of ‘Namo Nursery,’ which is designed to support the availability of quality saplings and encourage community involvement in plantation activities. The initiative is expected to play a crucial role in ensuring a steady supply of plants for various government and public-driven green projects.
Bhajanlal Sharma emphasized the importance of coordinated efforts between departments to achieve environmental targets efficiently. He also highlighted the need for timely execution and monitoring of plantation drives to ensure long-term sustainability and survival of saplings.
The meeting underlined the government’s focus on environmental responsibility, with directives aimed at accelerating plantation work and enhancing green infrastructure across Rajasthan. Officials were encouraged to adopt innovative approaches and involve local communities, educational institutions, and organizations to maximize impact.
The review also included discussions on improving awareness among citizens about environmental conservation and encouraging participation in initiatives that contribute to a cleaner and greener ecosystem. As Rajasthan continues to face environmental challenges such as water scarcity and climate variability, initiatives like ‘Hariyalo Rajasthan’ and ‘Namo Nursery’ are being positioned as key steps toward building ecological resilience.
The Chief Minister’s review meeting reflects a broader commitment to sustainable governance, where environmental protection remains a central priority alongside development.
