Jaipur: Global energy company ENGIE has achieved financial closure for its 250 MW Khaba Solar Project in Barmer district, Rajasthan, marking a major milestone in the development of the renewable energy project. The project is being developed through the company’s wholly owned subsidiary, Khaba Renewable Energy, and is expected to move into the next phase of construction after securing funding from leading international financial institutions.
The solar project is expected to contribute significantly to India’s clean energy transition by generating renewable electricity, reducing carbon emissions, and creating employment opportunities for local communities.
According to the company, achieving financial closure ensures the availability of funding required to complete the project. Construction is expected to be completed by the third quarter (Q3) of 2026, allowing the solar plant to begin commercial operations thereafter.
