Prem Chand Bairwa Supports Women’s Reservation Bill, Criticises Opposition Over ‘Lack of Vision’…

JAIPUR, RAJASTHAN — Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister Prem Chand Bairwa has expressed strong support for the Women’s Reservation Bill while criticising the opposition, stating that the state government is working with a clear and focused vision for development.

Speaking in Jaipur, Bairwa extended his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for introducing the Women’s Reservation Bill. He described the legislation as a significant step toward ensuring the respect, empowerment, and self-reliance of women across the country.

He said that the government’s objective is not only to increase women’s representation in politics but also to provide economic security and strengthen their role in decision-making processes. According to him, empowering women politically will have a broader positive impact on society, contributing to inclusive growth and stronger governance.

Bairwa emphasised that women’s participation in politics is essential for a balanced democracy, noting that women make up nearly half of the population. He added that ensuring their representation in legislative bodies would lead to more diverse perspectives and better policymaking.

He also stated that the Women’s Reservation Bill is a long-awaited reform that aims to correct historical imbalances in political representation. By enabling more women to take part in governance, the bill is expected to create new opportunities and encourage greater participation in public life.

Responding to Leader of Opposition Tikaram Jully’s demand for an all-party meeting, Bairwa dismissed the need for such a move. He said that the government is already working with a well-defined roadmap and does not require additional consultations that, in his view, lack constructive intent.

He подчеркнул that Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma is leading the state with a clear vision of building a “developed Rajasthan.” He said that the government has initiated multiple development projects aimed at improving infrastructure, boosting economic growth, and enhancing public services.

Criticising the Congress party, Bairwa said that the opposition lacks a clear vision and often makes statements without a concrete agenda. He argued that instead of contributing meaningfully to development discussions, the opposition is engaging in political rhetoric.

He added that the government remains focused on governance and public welfare, and will continue to work toward fulfilling its commitments to the people of Rajasthan. According to him, development and empowerment remain the top priorities of the administration.

The Deputy Chief Minister’s remarks come amid ongoing national discussions on the Women’s Reservation Bill and political debates surrounding its implementation. The issue continues to be a major point of contention between the ruling alliance and opposition parties.

Prem Chand Bairwa’s statement reflects the Rajasthan government’s emphasis on women’s empowerment and development, while also highlighting the sharp political divide between the ruling party and the opposition.
