Bhajan Lal Sharma Targets Opposition at ‘Jan Aakrosh Mahila Padyatra’, Questions Record on Women..

Date:

JAIPUR, RAJASTHAN — Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma launched a strong attack on opposition parties while addressing the ‘Jan Aakrosh Mahila Padyatra’ in Jaipur, questioning their long-standing record on women’s empowerment.

Speaking at the event, Sharma said that parties which ruled the country for decades failed to deliver real progress for women, accusing them of focusing only on vote-bank politics instead of meaningful reforms. He questioned what concrete steps had been taken by them to improve women’s participation in governance and decision-making.

He said that when the opportunity came to ensure greater rights and representation for women through legislation, the opposition failed to support it, referring to the recent developments around the Women’s Reservation Bill.

According to Sharma, this reflects a lack of genuine intent toward empowering women, as political interests were placed above the welfare of half the country’s population. He stated that such actions have exposed the true stance of opposition parties on women-related issues.

The Chief Minister added that women across the country are aware of these developments and are closely observing political actions, suggesting that their response will be seen in upcoming elections. He expressed confidence that women voters will make informed decisions based on these issues.

The ‘Jan Aakrosh Mahila Padyatra’ was organised as part of a broader outreach effort aimed at engaging women and raising awareness about their rights and representation. The event saw participation from party workers and supporters, focusing on strengthening grassroots connections.

Sharma also emphasised that women’s empowerment is a key priority for his government, linking it to overall development and inclusive growth. He said that empowering women socially, economically, and politically is essential for building a stronger nation.

His remarks come amid ongoing political debates over the Women’s Reservation Bill, with both ruling and opposition parties continuing to exchange criticism over its failure in Parliament.

Bhajan Lal Sharma’s statement highlights the BJP’s attempt to question the opposition’s track record while reinforcing its own narrative on promoting women’s empowerment and participation in governance.
