Jaipur, Rajasthan:
Rajasthan BJP President Madan Rathore launched a strong attack on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, accusing him of deliberately promoting a narrative of scarcity that could trigger panic and disrupt public confidence regarding essential supplies.
Speaking in Jaipur, Rathore claimed that repeated references to shortages can influence public perception and behavior in a negative manner. “Rahul Gandhi always wants to create a sense of scarcity. If we keep talking about scarcity, it creates a mindset among citizens that even if they already have sufficient supply, they might still try to store more out of fear,” he said.
He further alleged that such messaging could lead to panic-driven hoarding, which in turn may create artificial shortages in the market. “Rahul Gandhi wants to foster this kind of thinking so that people start hoarding in a panic, and if others don’t get any, there will be chaos. This is not right,” Rathore added, warning about the possible consequences of such narratives.
The BJP leader emphasized that there is no need for concern regarding supply, asserting that adequate storage and systems are in place. He pointed out that even senior Congress leaders have acknowledged the stability of the current situation. He referred to statements by Anand Sharma and Shashi Tharoor, saying that they have indicated that the country’s leadership is moving in the right direction and that sufficient storage is available.
The remarks come amid ongoing political exchanges over issues related to supply, pricing, and public perception, which have become key talking points in the broader political discourse. Leaders from both sides continue to present contrasting views, contributing to an increasingly intense debate.
Rathore’s statement reflects the BJP’s effort to counter opposition narratives while maintaining public confidence in governance and supply systems. The issue also highlights how messaging around essential commodities can have a direct impact on public sentiment and market behavior.
As political discussions continue to evolve, such exchanges are expected to remain at the forefront, shaping both public opinion and the narrative battle between the ruling party and the opposition.
The debate underscores the importance of responsible communication in public life, especially on matters that can influence consumer behavior and societal stability.
