Jaipur, Rajasthan, India
Senior Congress leader Ashok Gehlot has launched a sharp attack on the ruling BJP government in Rajasthan, accusing it of avoiding accountability and failing to respond to key public issues.
Speaking in Jaipur, Gehlot referred to his earlier remarks, often described as “intezaar shastra,” and alleged that the ruling leadership has deliberately avoided addressing them. “The BJP leaders and the Chief Minister are not answering on my ‘intezaar shastra’, but they don’t want to answer us,” he said, questioning the silence of the government on critical matters.
Gehlot emphasized the role of the opposition in a लोकतांत्रिक system, asserting that raising questions in public interest is both necessary and justified. “The opposition will definitely question them in public interest, and it is their responsibility to answer,” he stated, underlining the importance of transparency and जवाबदेही in governance.
He further criticized the pace of governance under the current administration, suggesting a lack of visible action on the ground. “We are not able to understand when they (the ruling government) will start working,” Gehlot remarked, indicating dissatisfaction with the government’s performance.
The remarks come amid an increasingly charged political atmosphere in Rajasthan, where both the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party and the opposition Congress are intensifying their rhetoric ahead of key political developments.
While BJP leaders have highlighted their governance initiatives and development agenda, opposition figures like Gehlot continue to question the effectiveness and responsiveness of the administration.
Gehlot’s statements reflect the ongoing political confrontation in Rajasthan, with the opposition pressing for answers while positioning itself as a voice of public accountability.
